Plainfield Community Outreach received a 5 year federal grant via the NJ Department of Education in 2007 and again in 2012 to provide 21st Century after school services for students in grades 4-8, who attend two Plainfield area schools. The schools that PCO currently serves are
- Clinton K-8 Center: Grades 4-5
- Cedarbrook K-8 Center: Grades 4-8
Please note that most programs are on a first-come, first-served basis. Programs begin during the first full week of the school year. All activities except for special events will be located in your child’s school. Parents must pick up their children no later than 6:00 PM. Students who are not picked up by 6:00 PM will be taken to the police station where their parents can pick them up.
Registration fees for the 2017 – 2018 school year is $25 per month for each student.
After School Programs
All after school programs run from 2:35 PM to 6:00 PM, unless otherwise noted.
We follow the Plainfield school district schedule and closures. We are closed on all 1/2 days. Please note that all scheduled days may change.
Students enrolled in the 21st Century program are expected to attend every day for the complete time. Parents will receive a parent handbook that will give details of policies regarding attendance, etc. Parents are required to come to the office at 600 Cleveland Avenue to sign their children up, pay first months or entire year tuition and receive an orientation.
Students whose parents do not inform us of a planned absence (like an appointment or early dismissal) will accrue a $5 penalty per day. This policy is to avoid excessive absenteeism and promote consistent learning in the program.
Students are expected to dress appropriately for their day’s program. Students should be prepared with sneakers for sports and other fitness activities.
Some fees may apply to field trips, programs that require uniforms
or other necessary materials. This program is funded with federal funds from Title IV, Part B, 21st Century Community Learning Centers program of the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 awarded to the New Jersey Department of Education.
We will list the days we are closed in a special calendar given out when students
sign up for the program. We will also hand out reminder flyers a few days
prior to the specified date of closing.
Application is available for the 2017 – 2018 school year.
